Artist Information
Denise Wagner has been an artist and photographer for over thirty years. She graduated with honors in 1991 from Penn State University, majoring in Fine Art and Biology. She worked as a digital Scientific Illustrator and photographer for Penn State University until her retirement in 2007. Denise's work can be viewed at Science-Art.com. Commitment to the Environment, Wildlife, and Furry Friends Denise believes in volunteering her time and artwork to a variety of important organizations. She has been a long-time volunteer at Shaver's Creek Environmental Center, creating a series of Birds of Prey paintings, wildlife and flower painting demonstrations, teaching photography and art workshops, and designing web pages, brochures, and art for their newsletter. Denise also donated a painting titled “Snuggle Up” to Centre County Pennsylvania Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). She contributed artwork and photographs, and PhotoShop consulting for the Arboretum at Penn State. Denise also contributes artwork or photographs to Centre Wildlife Care for their annual “Wild About Animals Event.” The Present Upon her retirement, Denise has concentrated on creating artwork in a variety of mediums. Her favorite being pastel and acrylics. Her acrylic work “Dinchers Roadside” was part of an exhibition at Penn State Hershey. Denise is also a member of the Farmland Preservation Artists. Denise has exhibited art at shows given by the Central Pennsylvania Pastel Society, the Gamble Mill Restaurant in Bellefonte, Pa, Art Alliance of Central Pa, Foxdale Village Art Gallery, Nittany Valley Chiropractic Center in State College, Pa., Green Drake Gallery, Bellefonte Art Museum, and the State College Framing Company and Gallery. The State College Framing Company and Gallery is currently showing my bird and raptor paintings created throughout my career.
